The Power of Design

Design is everywhere. It is present in the spaces we occupy, in the objects we use and in the systems in which we operate. Look around you; your clothes, phone, home, car, neighborhood, city, and even your political system are all products of a deliberate design process. Design shapes the world we live in and is a fundamental part of our lives. Therefore, it is not an understatement to suppose that within the design process we can find the source of most of the problems we encounter in the world, and that within design we can find solutions for them.

What is design? Design is an expansive concept that can be described as a process of solution creation guided by a set of defined objectives, and sometimes the definition of these objectives is part of the design process itself.

 These are a few of the things we think about so we decided to create Perspectives, a blog where we aim to examine the diversity of the design process; all the factors that influence the end-product; and how it shapes the world we live in. We are focused on dissipating thought about the design of the built environment through the lens of architecture, interiors, and urban design.
