From Warehouse to Urban Church: Living Hope Church

Living Hope is a diverse congregation representing people from a variety of backgrounds, nations, races and ages. Their mission is to strive to create an environment for others to rethink what church means. dpai was asked to help convert a 1960’s stationary warehouse in Hamilton’s East end into a second campus for the church. Participatory design sessions were carefully designed to assist in programming the space as well as determining budgets and scope of various project phases. The resultant plan is a clear diagram that will accommodate the diverse needs of the congregation. New electrical and mechanical services are planned, along with a full audit of the aging building envelope.
